70 years ago, on July 4th, 1939, Lou Gehrig delivered the ultimate gratitude filled speech in the face of his terminal diagnosis of ALS. Anthony Mccarron of The New York Daily News outlines the details of today's nationwide MLB commemorative event where "every home team in baseball will host a reading of Gehrig's speech during the Seventh inning stretch as part of baseball's efforts to raise funds and awareness for ALS organizations."
