In This Space of the Human Heart I Wish You Way More Than Love

Image
We are in a beautiful time of shifts and change where what we decide to focus on will be our legacy moving forward.    To write about AMP Experience is like describing a lightning strike in all its brilliant power.   In bringing together a committed group of awesomeness in the tradition of a Sunday Tea to discuss issues and share experiences opens up space to ignite new possibilities where anything can happen as ideas and hearts join together in celebration and joy and community. When I heard the story told by Jean Huston at Marianne Williamson’s Sister Giant last year about Eleanor Roosevelt inviting all the female high school senior class presidents across the country to the White House for tea to discuss the role of women to bring about social justice and peace in a world searching for ways to heal, I thought what can I do to shine some light?  How can I take a stand in community to open new territory and space in the human heart to extend the ideals of peace on ...

The Star Fish Thrower Story - AMP Experience Make History Event

Image
At a recent gathering a dear friend shared this Starfish Thrower story as an answer to her own question and emotions around how, after this past years massive efforts where she gave everything she had, was tested beyond belief, risked everything, jumping off cliff after cliff without ceasing, only to realize more, then more, was required to move through her entrepreneurial world changing efforts and she had nothing left to give.   When she finished her sharing, realization washed through the group, her frustration and insight finding balance, shifting the energies of action, lighting the way ahead.  Inspired by  The Star Thrower from natural science writer Loren Eiseley. .. After quite a brutal ocean side storm a man stepped out for his morning walk along the shore.  As he looked down the beach, he saw a human figure moving like a dancer.  He smiled to himself to think of someone who would dance to the tides.  As he got closer, he noticed that it was a youn...

Tao of Mel - Be Wise...

Image
"Wise men don't need to prove their point; men who need to prove their point aren't wise." -- Tao Te Ching - Lao Tzu   There is nothing to prove. The world is such a beautiful place filled with so many lovely people concerned with sharing in the joys of living. There is so much that takes place day in and day out of our daily lives that hinges on our compassion in action for the way that we share our space.  My motto has always been to leave a situation, a place, a person's heart richer than I found it.  To leave it better than we found it.  There was something in the healing physicians oath that sent me on this path "first do no harm."  we live in a world where life and liberty is connected to two basic principles how do we put love first in our hearts and in the hearts of those we encounter and to treat a brother with as much respect as we treat ourselves.  Life is constantly in motion in a dance of change and our movement individually and collectively...

Do the Thing You Think You Can not Do... The Nyad Way...

Image
When first you don't succeed remember that Love is going to break through. Every journey needs that igniting leap into the unknown.  Loved this photograph capturing the first leap into the ocean between Cuba and Florida by long distance swimmer Diana Nyad on her fifth attempt at the monumental crossing... For a moment it has the look of someone praying.  Probably was, something like "Please dear God, protect me from the Jelly Fish, and the Open water horrors, allow me the grace to do my best and to be myself and to make the attempt no matter what the outcome, to see it through beyond the fatigue and the aches and the pains and apply my efforts to the task." Set your own path. Follow your intuition. Step out of your comfort zone and recalibrate your system.  Learn how to leap into your actions with love, surrendering to the present moment. My first mentor taught me not to try to be better than my competitors but to constantly try to be better than my last effort. Wi...
