What Does Acting with Love look Like? A Mels Love Land Exclusive Series

Image
Due to the natural instinct of our flight or fight response as a way of survival, we developed a need to be hyper vigilant and repsonsive to our fear; -- of the bear, of the monster, because we humanity needed to be alert to survive. This is no longer the case and we must unlearn the mechanisms of fear to govern our hearts. We can move into our inner light and love the way forward. We are baring witness to the changing of the guard. Where our children are our elders, where we understand the future will be different than the past and it is our repsonisbility to be in service to those who will follow in our footsteps. It is for all of us to stand together, to rise up, to pay it forward, to act with kindness, to live in the light of love and to remember we are all powerful beyond measure. A young women turned words of empowerment into a song, then had her community help her sing it. This is why we are here, to sing our songs, to be a light, to join with other lights. Enjoy this song. ...

It is time to do our part, to enjoy each act of kindness and love. To engage in the loving conversation, to not stoop to the level of those who would be swayed into the fear of their being.   Remember fear does not exist. Darkness, when you turn on the light, disappears. We are all counting on each other. Today is a day for self loving activism. No matter what - don't lose your steam when you need to rest, nourish, re-activate. And get back up and be in service to what calls to you in your neighborhood. Here's a little bit of my Mel Commitment - the path ahead changes and flows and moves and rises and falls and bridges are built then seem to fall away and always we move toward a world filled with love. Please consider joining us.To trigger something wonderful, here's part of my daily, ongoing process of listening within and finding the space to create that inner wonder that ignites the power of our being and affirming the way ahead. The numinous path we walk is lit from wit...

Cracking the Illusions of a Lie. Remaining Awake Through a Great Revolution

Martin Luther King Jr. worked tirelessly during his shortened life to bring about the grace of humanity in full and equal human rights.  It was said he worked 24 hours a day, delivered 450 speeches per year and was in constant engagement with challenges and opportunities to meet the needs of loving change. A few weeks ago I got to speak and listen and stand in the sacred spaces of the National Cathedral in Washington DC for an inter-faith conversation about the death penalty.  This space hosts many spirits through its long history and as with every trip to a new location it was brought to my attention Martin Luther King, Jr's final Sunday Sermon before his assination was delivered in this pulpit  31 March 1968.    "The world in which we live is geographically -- one." "We must learn to live together as brothers or we will all perish together as fools." "Somewhere we must come to see that human progress never rolls in on the wheels of inevitability. It comes...

I love this country deeply with eyes to see it clearly.  It matters the words we use. It matters the respect we extend to each other. It matters that we speak up for each other. Name calling and bullying is too much in a world where each of has to process and progress through the work of our days. Our children understand the way ahead in their hearts, in their art, in their minds... "Kind is the New Cool" "Love is the Way" We do not need an amplification of hate, but a civility of discourse. We do not need a churning of fear that leads to suffering, we will be extending love. We are in a great time of change of conscious reasoning. We need more education, more civility, more compassion, more kindness. It is our time to rise up and stand for our human brothers and sisters to showcase how love leads the way, that our hearts vision of peace is possible, that kindness is cool and that we do not need to have more so others can have less. We can care for each other and pr...
