#LoveLand101 Share the Gifts You Have Been Given!

Image
Hello Strength.  Listen to your surroundings and find the sounds of joy.  Hear the sounds of Love that fill the world beating outward from the Earth's heart center. Take today to remember as Rumi wrote - 'Whatever I was looking for was always you.'  Every search begins and ends within, in the full presence of all light that is your essence.  Everywhere you look you are surrounded by the embrace of all that is divine.  Plant whatever seeds remind you of this truth.  Plant them in the hearts of your friends, in the minds of strangers and in the embrace of your loved ones. There is no greater miracle than to hear beyond the ears and to love with all your heart, radiating outward from source expanding creations power with each incredibly fortuitous breath of life. Today is the eve of humanities experience of divine light shining forth into consciousness.  We celebrate this night as the birth of Christ, as the birth of all that is.  It is a beautiful t...

Inequality Anywhere is a Threat to Equality Everywhere...

Image
I woke up this morning hearing the above words ringing in my head.  "Inequality Anywhere is a Threat to Equality Everywhere..." Of course, once I had my coffee and remembered the source of this thought, Martin Luther King's "Injustice anywhere, is a threat to justice everywhere" from his Letter from Birmingham Jail, April 16, 1963 I understood you can not jail an idea, you can not jail the truth, chains do not stop an idea whose time has come.  An idea is stronger than any army. In holding the light with love you understand each action counts, each injustice matters and each time an act of separation and segregation and hatred takes place it is our job to not allow it to stand as a monument and take root.  It is our job to halt it and showcase it for the ineffectual threat it is to our state of grace and set it right shifting the course of our peaceful destiny action by action. It is our job to shine light on the experience with love returning to the ground of t...

We Need A Little Christmas.

Image
Representing all the things I love; musical theater, magnificent leads, Jerry Herman music and lyrics, inspirational icons, and wonderful adaptations... There has been no greater inspiration than Lucille Ball, a trailblazer, a pioneer, a business woman, a mother, a comedienne, a wife, a lover and an entertainer. Here she is warming hearts and starring in a fantastic musical adaptation of Patrick Dennis' Auntie Mame! :Lucille Ball sings We Need a Little Christmas for the musical Mame: In honoring her spirit and the magnificent impact she has had on all of us who seek to lighten hearts with laughter, enjoy this tribute from the Kennedy Center Honors, a total throwback (check out Ronald and Nancy Reagon)...

Rise Up In All Your Glory

Image
"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear." In honor of Nelson Mandela accentuate the positive... AFFIRM  Let me remember who I am. I AM HEART CENTERED Save me from myself Save me from my thinking Save me from my unmindful action Save me from being unloving I AM willing to consider the possibility there is another way. Allow me to see… with Love. FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION RISE INTO YOUR MAGNIFICENCE TODAY. NOW. ALWAYS. A revolution takes place in the heart. It begins by hearing "Enough!" Enough of the thinking that lead me astray. Enough of the actions that keep me in my pattern. Enough of the behavior that blocks me from accepting what is being offered in every moment. It begins by opening up and being willing to see a situation free from past vision transforming all of it into "I am enough to make any change I want to see." Embark on a new cha...

Never Give Up!

Image
"Put one foot in front of the other and soon you'll be walking cross the floor." If you've fallen down.  Get up. Brush yourself off and start all over again. If you don't think you can do it. You are wrong. If you've been told "It's not good enough." Get a second opinion. If you've done everything you can think of.   Let your heart lead the next action. If you can't go on. Don't. Stand and wait until you feel like you can go on. If you think you are too young, too old or too ugly to do something.  You are wrong. If you want to complain.  Stop. If you are you own worst enemy.  Become your own best friend. If you've gone as far as you can go. Take another step. If you are going through hell, keep on going. If you self sabotage, do one thing and self celebrate. If you are afraid, do one thing that scares you. Whatever you are feeling or thinking are experiencing.  Just remember, one foot goes in front of the other... Thanks to the w...

Wage Peace

Image
A tiny peace affirmation... Peace comes from knowing peace Love comes from being Loving Gifts come from wholly giving In this light of understanding Peace becomes My deepest brilliance   Glowing brightly   Step not timidly on the path Flow forward   Fully Alive And Alight Peace is mine My calling card Falling with me Radiating through me Blossoming all around me Witnessing what I have done Peace realized I wake   Hearing the bluebirds of the Angels   Joining in the dance of Love Free In grace I own my state of peace Right now. -- Take today to make a peace offering to yourself and someone who you have been in conflict with.  Allow a new way of looking at the situation to flow forward shifting whatever perception needs adjustment. Do this in honor of yourself. And. The pursuit of peace on earth. #LoveLand101

Dark said to Light....

Image
"While I do not get to see you on a daily basis.  I know you are there and it gives me great comfort, my dear friend."  Light said to Dark "Until we meet again in the shadows, our magical time where we get to share each others gifts." That feels like love. smiles, Melanie #LoveLand101

Woman as Healer. Faith as Foundation. Compassion in Action.

Image
Compassion does not ask us to participate in judgment it merely asks us to be compassionate and forgive as we move through our healing process. It is what we remember when we take on the path of the true warrior in service of all that is. This is not the world that we were born into this is the world we inherited and create through our thoughts and actions and like any inheritance we work to become what we need to be for us and we unlearn that which we have acquired and we know our path is our path and all that we are shackled to when released is the way that we come into the truth of who we are. " 'Dr. Zhivago, in Boris Pasternak's great book , said "We are made ill by saying the opposite of what we feel, groveling before what we dislike, and rejoicing at what brings us nothing but misfortune." While this may seem to be a gloomy statement on human nature, I have found most people nod affirmatively when they hear or read it. Being pulled from inner needs and pers...

The Glory of Love

Image
A classic is a classic.   Jimmy Durante singing The Glory of Love number written by Billy Hill deeply resonates the message of love.  It is at once beautiful and universal sharing a story of love in all its charms. In the spirit with which Mr. Durante, one of the great characters of his or any age, was who he was, I offer up this teeny tiny prayer to go with his heartfelt rendering of this delightful song. May you feel connected, comforted and full of peace Today. Now. Always. May your heart open in ways never before possible revealing the deepest truth of your fullest knowing. with infinite love and gratitude Melanie You've got to give a little, take a little, and let your poor heart break a little. That's the story of, that's the glory of love. You've got to laugh a little, cry a little, until the clouds roll by a little. That's the story of, that's the glory of love. As long as there's the two of us, we've got the world and all it's charms. And ...

The Miracle of Service. The Inspiration of Peace. The Love of Freedom and Country. Beginnings of the Peace Corp JFK - Eleanor talk...

Greatness lies in all our hearts to be of service.  On Veteran's Day we honor those among us that carry the badge of military action past and present in defense of Freedom. Researching is the great gift of a writer’s life.   It not only opens worlds unexplored in your regular life but it allows the opportunity to give flight to your hearts intuition.   It allows you to make the connections of the past to inspire the ideas of the present and it enables the expression of unstoppable faith that anything is possible when we give freely of the gifts we have been given. In many ways public service uncovers the brightest and the darkest parts of the human heart. To be in truly in service is one of the ways we make manifest the promise of humanities most precious gifts, Peace on Earth because as we extend our hearts to support others any barrier that exists fall away. From PBS Prospects of Mankind John F. Kennedy and Eleanor Roosevelt sit down on the day he issued the decl...

Plant New Seeds. With Love.

Image
Today's the day! Have faith and nothing shall be impossible. Leave the past behind you.  Let love lead the way. Great Things Grow From Tiny Actions. "if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, "Move from here to there" and it will move." (Matthew 17:20) As William Jennings Bryan wrote about the mystery of the Watermelon -- I have observed the power of the watermelon seed. It has the power of drawing from the ground and through itself 200,000 times its weight. When you can tell me how it takes this material and out of it colors an outside surface beyond the imitation of art, and then forms inside of it a white rind and within that again a red heart, thickly inlaid with black seeds, each one of which in turn is capable of drawing through itself 200,000 times its weight—when you can explain to me the mystery of a watermelon, you can ask me to explain the mystery of God. Bryan, a politician and best known as a prosecuto...

Friendship Makes the World Go Round!

Image
You've got to have friends, all kinds of friends.  Friends are how the world goes round.   Friends are the extension of our hearts, those individuals who are with us no matter what, giving us strength to rely on when we feel ours is gone, loving us when we need a boost and sharing in the sad and happy days that make up in equal parts the days of our lives.   Friendship is forged not so much by time but through understanding with compassion,  laughter, tears, invitations, insights, hugs,  heartaches, happiness and the  joyfulness of time spent in sharing our hearts with another. Whether new friends or old, whether friends we see everyday or friends that live in our hearts across great distances.  Friends are the vessel through which we feel the wholeness of who we are, safe and sound and in complete connection to our insular Tahiti and that space of heaven on earth. -- Excerpted from The Bare Melcessities. We are in a time where we have lost our sense o...

In This Space of the Human Heart I Wish You Way More Than Love

Image
We are in a beautiful time of shifts and change where what we decide to focus on will be our legacy moving forward.    To write about AMP Experience is like describing a lightning strike in all its brilliant power.   In bringing together a committed group of awesomeness in the tradition of a Sunday Tea to discuss issues and share experiences opens up space to ignite new possibilities where anything can happen as ideas and hearts join together in celebration and joy and community. When I heard the story told by Jean Huston at Marianne Williamson’s Sister Giant last year about Eleanor Roosevelt inviting all the female high school senior class presidents across the country to the White House for tea to discuss the role of women to bring about social justice and peace in a world searching for ways to heal, I thought what can I do to shine some light?  How can I take a stand in community to open new territory and space in the human heart to extend the ideals of peace on ...
